My new 10 inch handmade Pacific lampshade is truly art for lamps, bringing visual impact and drama to any room. Now you can update any lamp with a colorful, artistic shade that looks fantastic whether the lamp is on or off My proprietary design patterns are the focal point of these shades and provide a more interesting visual element than traditional plain shades.
This handmade Pacific lampshade measures 10″diameter x 10″ height, and is appropriate for most table lamps.
Turn any lamp into a work of art with one of my 10 inch handmade lampshades. I design and handweave all the lampshade fabrics using sustainable eco-friendly silk & bamboo yarns. The process is time-consuming and has these steps:
- I select from my proprietary patterns, determine a harmonious colorway to complement the pattern and then develop the intricate placement of each yarn to create the fabric.
- Then I dress my loom and handweave the fabrics for my handmade lampshades.
- After that, I cut them to size and finish the fabric with an eco-friendly protectant before sending the finished yardage to a nearby fabricator.
- Here the fabric is laminated to a stiffer backing while taking care to keep the fabric aligned.
- Finally the shade is hand formed to my specifications and pattern matched along the seam.
As a result, each one is truly a work of art that features a level of craftsmanship unlike any traditional shade you see.
To reduce waste, I upcycle my swatches & samples, repurposing them to create my artwork. I also make handmade paper from the remnant warp yarns.
